Samantha Blackmore
I have been a qualified humanistic integrative counsellor since 2017 and am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy, BACP.
Here at Samantha Blackmore Counselling, I practice in many varied settings and use a range of approaches and tools to enable clients to explore areas of themselves and their lives that may be causing internal distress and not serving them in ways that promote growth and contentment.
I offer a safe space to explore areas of your life that you may be struggling with. Unresolved emotions that haven’t been processed, can create unhelpful thought patterns which can impact on our behaviours and influence our sense of self. Within a trusting and non judgemental relationship you can safely explore your thoughts and feelings which helps build your self awareness. Talking therapy can be a way of sharing your concerns, making sense of them so that you can find better ways to manage your emotions.
Counselling can help manage the unpredictable and sometimes overwhelming tides of life

Adult Counselling
Adult life can come with numerous hurdles, many of us are fortunate enough to have close family and friends that can support us on a daily basis. However, sometimes we would prefer an impartial adult to help us resolve internal issues that may be preventing us from for filling our commitments or reaching our full potential. My hope is to create a supportive relationship for my clients to be able to explore areas of themselves they would like to be more self aware of. Self awareness brings understanding to learnt behaviours or aspects of ourselves that may be influencing our self esteem and self belief. Both of which can impact our relationship, our health and wellbeing or our work and home life.

I have experience working with anxiety, low self esteem, loss and bereavement, low mood and relationship dynamics.
Counselling can cause a ripple effect: Making a small change in our behaviour can alter other aspects of our lives
Children's Counselling
I am passionate about supporting Children and Young people, I believe that if they have a safe space at an early age to explore thoughts and feelings before they reaching adulthood, they can grow towards becoming the people they aspire to be. Counselling can help them to build on their self esteem and self confidence from this comes a greater resilience to deal more effectively with life’s challenges.
I have experience working with children & young people, ages 5-18 as well as adults with a range of issues including anxiety, bereavement, self harm, suicide and relationships to name a few. I also have experiences working with people who have ADHD, ASD, those who have experienced trauma and children and young people who are in care or have been adopted.
I have worked within many BCP schools in my role as a counsellor for Mosaic and The Listening Ear both are local charities, who provide counselling to children and young people in our area.
This has given me a range of experience dealing with difficulties around emotional based school avoidance, anxieties, anger, family dynamics and relationships.
